For long has the Elbrechtine Empire been the chief power on this nameless world. Once glorious, it has since fallen into decadence and disrepair; a decade ago a particularly foul group of rulers ran it into the ground, even turning to the enslavement of local Orc tribes to finance their profligate endeavors. Now the Empire is attempting to get back on its feet, but its influence is much diminished, corruption is rampant, and it faces the rising power of two young factions. To the West and North, the militaristic Hobgoblin tribes have been consolidating their strength, and some say, have now united into a syndicate calling itself the “White Dragon” – a suspicion seemingly confirmed by recent sightings of an actual White Dragon in the northern skies. To the South and East, a new religious movement called the Brotherhood of Life has been growing in popularity, recruiting many of the poor and downtrodden as well as idealistic youths. Finally, there is the matter of the Necromancer Einris Marilaan, entombed alive some fifty years ago, who seems to have up and left his crypt.

Unto these uneasy times comes a motley (and ever-shifting) band of adventurers, each with their own agendas, but increasingly forced to work together for the greater good as the darkness gathers…
